Information Technology students at ITS are once again livening up campus sports through a series of physical sports and esports competitions. Togetherness and sportsmanship are the main spirit of this event.

Surabaya, FTEIC ITS – The Information Technology Student Association (HMIT) ITS organized DINAMIT 2026, a series of physical sports and electronic sports (esports) competitions held from September 27 to October 17, 2026. The event was open to ITS Information Technology students and was held both offline and online, depending on the sport being contested.

According to Dimas Muhammad Putra, the event chair, DINAMIT stands for Dinamika Olahraga Information Technology (Information Technology Sports Dynamics), an HMIT ITS program that accommodates the interests and talents of ITS Information Technology students in physical sports and esports. DINAMIT was first established as a new program under the Tuas Prakarsa cabinet of HMIT ITS 2025/2026. Up to the Rangkai Asa cabinet of HMIT ITS 2026/2027, DINAMIT has been held twice, including this year’s edition.

Before DINAMIT, HMIT ITS had two separate programs: Garpit, which focused on esports competitions, and Sehati, which focused on physical sports competitions. Because the two were held far apart in the calendar, they were merged into DINAMIT so that physical sports and esports could be accommodated within a single, more integrated program.

DINAMIT was organized by the Internal Affairs Department of HMIT ITS for the 2026/2027 period. The core committee consisted of Hazwan Adhikara Nasution as the person in charge and Chair of HMIT ITS, Dimas Muhammad Putra as event chair, S. Farhan Baig as vice chair, and Dina Rahmadani as secretary. In carrying out the event, the committee was assisted by several divisions: Event, Documentation and Design, Equipment and Decoration, Medical and Consumption, and Security and License.

The physical sports at DINAMIT 2026 comprised four branches: volleyball, futsal, basketball, and badminton. The volleyball matches were held at the Statistics Field on September 30 and October 1, 2026, with semifinal and final rounds.

The basketball matches took place at the ITS Semi-Indoor Basketball Court on October 4, 2026, and the final basketball games closed the DINAMIT series on October 17, 2026.

The badminton competition took place at the Zuper Badminton Court on October 13, 2026.

Besides physical sports, DINAMIT 2026 also featured four esports titles. The FIFA tournament opened the series on September 27, 2026, in Room IT 705 offline, followed by PUBG Mobile on October 4, 2026, online. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was played online on October 14, 2026. Valorant was also held online on October 14, 16, and 17, 2026.

The general match format included an opening, preparation, main matches, semifinal and final rounds depending on each sport, and a closing. Winners will receive prizes and certificates, with the awarding planned to be part of the ITFest program after the DINAMIT series ends. This year, DINAMIT adopted the theme The Conjuring. The theme was chosen to make the atmosphere at the ITFest culminating event more exciting through cosplay of characters from The Conjuring films by participants and attending students.

DINAMIT has three main objectives. First, to strengthen family bonds and social ties among IT students across cohorts through sports. Second, to improve students’ physical fitness by providing a platform to take part in various sports activities. Third, to provide a means of fulfilling IT students’ sports SKEM requirements. In addition, the event is expected to foster sportsmanship and teamwork, and to serve as a way to unwind from academic routines.

During preparation and implementation, the committee faced several challenges, including coordinating schedules between the committee and participants, adjusting match schedules to venue availability, technical coordination across sports, managing time so matches ran on schedule, and coordinating the esports matches held online.

Looking ahead, the committee hopes DINAMIT will continue to be a program that accommodates the interests and talents of ITS Information Technology students in both physical sports and esports, and that it will keep being developed under future cabinets so students have the opportunity to take part in more sports.
