Marking the beginning of a new academic journey, FTEIC ITS held INCLENATION 2026, an event themed “Arunika” to welcome new students into the faculty.

Surabaya, FT-EIC ITS – Each new academic year brings with it a new chapter in the academic journey of incoming students. Within the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, this moment is embodied through the organization of INCLENATION, a series of activities systematically designed to welcome new students while preparing them for the phase of university life that lies ahead. This year, INCLENATION FTEIC is scheduled to take place on 18–19 July 2026, and is envisioned as the starting point of orientation for hundreds of new students entering the academic environment they will soon inhabit.
Much like a gateway marking the beginning of a new journey, incoming students leave behind their years of secondary education and step into university life, a phase laden with both challenges and opportunities for self-development. Carrying the theme Arunika, which represents the light of dawn as a symbol of hope for the future, this event is designed to welcome new students not merely as members of the FTEIC community, but as individuals guided to develop their potential and contribute meaningfully throughout their academic journey ahead.
The primary objective of INCLENATION is to comprehensively introduce the profile of FTEIC to new students, while equipping them with essential materials to prepare for university life. This process is carried out with the guidance of mentors who interact directly with new students, ensuring that the materials and messages conveyed are fully understood and applicable.
The Project Officer of INCLENATION FTEIC explained that the outcomes expected from this event extend beyond academic matters alone. “The experience we hope new students will gain is, first and foremost, a solid understanding of the materials they need for their studies. Beyond that, we also aim to bring an element of togetherness, including meaningful interaction with senior students who play a role in guiding them,” she stated.
One of the most anticipated agendas within the event series is Retorika Arunika, a speech session delivered by the presidium of FTEIC, comprising the Head of the Student Association (Kahima) through to the President of the Student Executive Board (Kabem). This agenda is designed to allow new students to genuinely feel the presence of student organization leaders, while gaining reinforced motivation through speeches intended to build enthusiasm for facing university life.
The organization of INCLENATION is prepared through a mature and structured planning process. This is grounded in the hope that the benefits of the event will not only be felt by new students as participants, but will also serve as a platform for learning and capacity development for the entire committee involved in its execution.
In its implementation, organizing an event of this scale is not without its challenges. The foremost challenge faced by the committee lies in managing and coordinating a total of 281 personnel, a task that demands strong managerial capacity, effective communication, and team solidity from the preparation stage through to execution.
Through the organization of INCLENATION, it is hoped that new students will gain a comprehensive understanding of FTEIC, as well as personal development that will prove beneficial for their future, both in an academic context and in their eventual professional careers. “For me, this event serves as a platform to prepare new students for university life. Beyond that, however, INCLENATION also functions as a means of developing managerial capabilities for all committee members involved,” concluded the Project Officer of INCLENATION FTEIC.
