Surabaya, FTEIC ITS – ELECTICS Company Take took place on September 19, 2026 at the Robotics Building of ITS. The event was held offline and attended by approximately 1,100 students from FTEIC. ELECTICS Company Talk Session 1 featured discussions on career paths and professional development, specifically through perspectives of individuals who have gained work experience at middle to top career levels. This activity aimed to provide FTEIC students with insights into workplace dynamics, the process of building a career after graduation, and various competencies that need preparation during university studies.

This session featured two speakers experienced in technology and industry fields. They were Sugianto Halim, S.Kom., M.M.T., Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Sentra Vidya Utama (SEVIMA), an Informatics Engineering alumnus, and Fandy Natahiwidha, S.Kom., M.M., CMCO at PT Avolut Global Indonesia, an Information Systems alumnus. The selection of these two speakers was based on their relevant experiences and career journeys that aligned with the discussion topics, enabling them to provide perspectives on professional career development.

Throughout the session, the speakers shared insights about their career paths, experiences in the workplace, and industry developments they encountered during their careers. The discussion covered not only general aspects of work but also various challenges faced when building a career and how individuals can adapt to evolving industrial needs. These experiences provided participants with a realistic picture of the professional world after completing higher education.

One key insight shared was the importance of preparing oneself while still in university. Such preparation includes not only academic and technical skills but also various soft skills such as communication, teamwork ability, problem solving, and adaptability. As industries and technologies continue to evolve dynamically, students must also be willing to keep learning and stay updated with developments in their fields.

The enthusiasm of participants during the session was evident through their active involvement in following the presentations and asking questions. The interaction between attendees and speakers made the discussion more relevant to student needs, particularly in understanding the connection between university life and preparation for entering the professional world.

Through ELECTICS Company Talk Session 1, FTEIC students are expected to gain broader insights into the professional world and understand the importance of preparing competencies during their university studies. The experiences shared by the speakers served as a form of learning that can help students recognize various challenges and needs in the workplace while encouraging them to start preparing for their career journey early on.
