ELECTICS Company Talk 2026: Bridging FTEIC ITS Students with the Industry Through Alumni Stories

Surabaya, FTEIC ITS – FTEIC ITS students successfully held ELECTICS Company Talk on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 08.00–15.00 WIB, at the Robotics Building, ITS. The event was held offline and attended by around 1,100 students, primarily targeting new FTEIC students of the 2026 batch, while also inviting students from other batches.

According to Syaira as PIC 1, her full name is Syaira Azzahra Salsabila, a Biomedical Engineering student from the 2024 batch. ELECTICS Company Talk was designed as a collaborative series between two FTEIC student work programs, namely ECP (Electics Career Preparation) from the PSDM division and SEMTEK (Technology Seminar) from the RISTEK division.

The background of this event, according to Syaira as PIC 1, was the desire for FTEIC students to gain a more concrete picture of the working world, particularly regarding alumni career journeys and the conditions at the companies where they work. The goal was to provide insight into career choices, the industry landscape, and the preparation students need before entering the professional world, while also strengthening the bond between students and alumni.

The event was also supported by a partner, one of which was a videotron vendor owned by an ITS alumnus who was enthusiastic about participating in supporting the students’ activities.

ELECTICS Company Talk featured six alumni speakers from various departments and industry fields, namely:
● Sugianto Halim, S.Kom., M.M.T. — Founder & CEO of PT Sentra Vidya Utama (SEVIMA), Information Technology alumnus
● Fandy Natahiwidha — CMCO of PT. Avolut Global Indonesia, Information Systems alumnus
● Alif Syihabudin Fawwaz Suhartono, S.T. — Service Project & Applicant Specialist at PT Meditrans Indonesia
● Kevin Nathaniel, S.Kom. — Solution Architect at 3Dolphins.ai
● Muhammad Rusydi Al Affan, S.T., M.Kom. — Manager at Bank Rakyat Indonesia
● Ir. Lies Hartono (Cak Lontong) — Comedian, presenter, actor, and motivator

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of FTEIC and Syaira as PIC 1, followed by a Talk Show session with the alumni, divided into three sessions each covering a different topic. Each speaker shared their career journey while introducing their company and field of work, followed by a Q&A and discussion session with participants. During the break between session 2 and session 3, there was a meet-and-greet session with Cak Lontong specifically for new FTEIC 2026 students, where participants could interact with him directly. The event also included a group photo session with the speakers and participants.

Topics discussed during the Talk Show were quite varied, including:
● Alumni career journeys after graduation
● Experiences entering the workforce
● An overview of the companies where they work
● Skills and competencies required by the industry

One key insight shared with students was that everyone’s career journey can differ and does not always follow a linear path based on their field of study, so students need to start identifying their interests, developing their skills, and preparing themselves from their time in college.

The Q&A session also received an enthusiastic response from participants, with a variety of questions on topics such as:
● The process of entering the workforce
● Job-seeking experiences
● Skills required by companies
● How to prepare oneself while still in college

The speakers answered based on their own experiences, giving participants a more realistic and practical picture. The high enthusiasm of participants throughout the event, especially their active involvement in the Q&A session, was one of the most memorable moments for Syaira as PIC 1 and the committee, as it showed that the goal of connecting students with alumni had been achieved.

Through ELECTICS Company Talk, Syaira as PIC 1 and the committee hope that FTEIC students gain a broader understanding of the professional world and the various career paths they can consider, and that they begin preparing themselves from their time in college, in terms of academics, soft skills, and experience. Looking ahead, the committee hopes that similar events can continue to be held and developed by inviting more alumni from various companies and fields, so that students can gain increasingly diverse perspectives on the working world.
