the atmosphere during basketball session
Six departments and eight family study programs of the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC) ITS strengthen kinship through the Electic Tournament. The event, which is one of the work programs of BEM FTEIC, was held in October – November 2022. The competition consists of various sports, ranging from physical sports to e-sports. The Electic Tournament brings together six departments from FTEIC to compete, the excitement is added by the presence of supporters from each department to support their winning team.
The Electic Tournament is held once in each BEM FTEIC management period. In this year’s management, there are basketball, futsal, and badminton competitions. In addition, there are e-sport branches in the form of Valorant and Mobile Legend. These competitions open the doors of each department to get to know each other and establish family relationships within the same faculty.
The uniqueness of this year’s Electic Tournament lies in the technicality of the badminton sports competition. Often encountered, badminton competitions are held for women’s and men’s doubles which are then brought together in the final round. In the Electic Tournament, the system is made into mixed doubles so that the game can run more fairly and competitively.
“With the implementation of the Electic Tournament, it is hoped that it will become a forum for FTEIC residents to get to know each other better and be able to develop together in a better direction. For all the faculties as organizers, hopefully, this will be a good experience and in the future, we hope to be able to increase the number of activities that bring together FTEIC students,” said Nikho, one of the organizers of the Electic Tournament.
Even though the event was not opened with an opening event, the event went lively with the blazing enthusiasm of the contestants and the uninterrupted support of the members of their respective departments. However, there is a closing event which is an awarding distribution session for the champions which will be held on the ITS basketball court on November 30, 2022.
