Office 365 for ITS Lecturers & Employees

What is ITS Office 365?

ITS provides facilities for all lecturers and employees to obtain an Office 365 ProPlus product license. Office 365 ProPlus for ITS is a Microsoft product intended for all ITS lecturers, employees, and students to use the latest version of Office software and other supporting software, both online and offline. Lecturers, employees, and students can install Office 365 products on 5 different devices.

Microsoft products in Office 365 that can be used by employees and lecturers include:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT) latest version for Windows and OS X / macOS (Offline);
  • The latest version of Microsoft Office Online;
  • Office online is the Office software that can be accessed online, both through the browser and apps;
  • One Drive (a place to store and share files through Microsoft’s Cloud service) with a capacity of 1 TB;
  • Skype for Business;
  • Mail Outlook;
  • Other products such as Yammer, social media to connect with all lecturers, employees, ITS students, Calendar, OneNote, Delve, etc;
  • Power BI (Business Intelligence Tool).

Who has the right to get Office 365?

Lecturers and employees are entitled to all O365 products as shown above. Especially for Office, lecturers, and employees can download and install Office products for 5 different computers or devices.

Benefits of lecturers, employees, and ITS students using Office 365:

  • Get 1 Terabyte file storage for each community;
  • Will always be able to access the latest version of Office (Word, Excel, PPT) online;
  • Can download the latest version of Office on the official portal;
  • Can download other O365 products such as Skype for Business, OneDrive for Business, etc. at the official portal;
  • Facilitate collaboration between academics at ITS;
  • Use Office legal products through Office activation.

How do you use Office 365?

To be able to use O365, lecturers and employees must activate first. The way to use ITS Office 365 is as follows.

  1. Login to my.its.ac.id.
  2. Select Portal Office 365 on Service Category.
  3. Please wait for the synchronization process. This process only take 10-20 seconds.
  4. Click Refresh to access Office 365.
  5. Wait until the indicator color of table turn green.
  6. Click Next.
  7. And you will direct to Office 365 page.

How to download the Latest Office and Other Office 365 Products?

To be able to download the latest Office products, the lecturer and employee must synchronized Office 365 through the my.its.ac.id page first.
To be able to download and install Office products, use the internet without a proxy. Click to: Internet access at ITS for how to access the internet at ITS which by default is without proxy. Click to: How to Set Up Proxy for steps to deactivate/enable internet access with a proxy.

After successfully entering the official portal, then click “Install Office” -> Office 365 apps -> Run File. Furthermore, the installation process will be automatically carried out by your computer system.

Click “Install Office”

By default if you click “Install Office” then the product that will be installed on your laptop is:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • OneNote
  • Access, Publisher
  • Outlook
  • Skype for Business
  • OneDrive for Business

You can also choose “Other installs” to install other software.

Click “Other install options”


Does it have to be via myITS every time I want to access the Office 365 portal?

To access the portal office, there are two ways. However, to use both of these methods, you must activate Office 365 (see the explanation above). How to access Office 365:

  1. Via myITS Single Sign-On (SSO) page, which is my.its.ac.id and then clicks Portal Office 365
  2. Log in directly via http://portal.office.com to be able to use Office 365 online. Login username is your ITS email and myITS password.
