Campus Visit: For Students From FTEIC

Monday, October 24, 2022, the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology welcomes a visit from Athirah Islamic High School – Bukit Baruga, Makassar. This group consisted of 60 students and 5 accompanying teachers who were then divided into two parts to make visits to the two departments at FTEIC. Some of the group visited the Department of Biomedical Engineering (DTB) and others to the Department of Information Technology (DTI).

Located in room AJ – 201, the Department of Biomedical Engineering welcomes visits from 37 students and 3 accompanying teachers. The event started with remarks from the Head of the Department, Dr. Achmad Arifin, S.T., M.Eng., and followed by a foreword from one of the teachers of SMA Islam Athirah – Bukit Baruga Makassar. The visiting session included an introduction to departmental profiles, faculties, and laboratory visits. In the introduction of departments and faculties, the Biomedical Engineering Department shared knowledge about the world of lectures, especially at ITS as well as achievements and research results by lecturers and students. Furthermore, students are taken to one of the laboratories owned by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory of Instrumentation and Biomedical Signal Processing. Students are invited directly to see many scientific works such as practicum modules and research results from lecturers and students, to see the physical form of research results such as the Electric Wheelchair. Students are accompanied and explained the operation to perform demonstrations independently.

Elsewhere, some of the other groups were making insightful visits to the Information Technology Department located in the ITS Library Building. Students are given an introduction to the Department of Information Technology starting from the scope of learning, curriculum, and departmental research, to the profile of graduates. Dr. Achmad Arifin, S.T., M.Eng., as the Head of the Information Technology Department gave direct motivation to students with his presentation with the theme “Building a Golden Generation”. In addition, there were presentations from HIMA DTI and ARA (A Renewal Agent) – big events owned by DTI. The students seemed active in asking questions and came forward to give their opinions in the discussion and Q&A sessions.
