Does the ITS Global Language Center Unit only offer English courses?

No, the ITS Global Language Center Unit also offers other foreign language courses such as German, Japanese, Korean, and Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA).

How can I find out the test service schedule at the ITS Global Language Center Unit?

Visit the ITS Global Language Center Unit website at www.its.ac.id/bahasa and follow the Instagram account @glc_its.

Can foreign language certificates issued by other institutions be accepted as a graduation requirement?

Based on Circular Letter WR I No. T/14388/IT2.I/TU.00.08/2021, only TOEFL-ITP or EFL Test results issued by the ITS Language Center are valid for graduation (Yudisium) registration.

Is there a flowchart regarding English as a graduation requirement at ITS?

EFL Test

What is the minimum EFL Test score required to meet the graduation requirement at ITS?	In accordance with Rector’s Regulation No. 32 of 2019, the minimum EFL (English) Test score required for graduation is: • Undergraduate (S1) and Master’s (S2): 477 • Doctoral (S3) and IUP programs: 500 Based on Circular Letter WR 1 No. 4416/IT2.I/TU.00.08/2022, students who have not achieved the required foreign language proficiency score are required to take a foreign language course organized by the ITS Global Language Center (UPBG) according to their obtained language level.
What materials are tested in the EFL Test?	The EFL Test consists of the following sections: • Section 1 – Listening Comprehension (50 questions): 40 minutes • Section 2 – Structure and Written Expression (40 questions): 25 minutes • Section 3 – Reading Comprehension (50 questions): 55 minutes
Is there an online EFL Test schedule available?	Currently, there is no online EFL Test schedule available. The test is conducted onsite only.
How can I obtain the EFL Test certificate or score statement?	You can request your EFL Test results through the website bahasa.its.ac.id once your test scores have been uploaded. If you need the PDF version, download it via Test Results → Print Online Certificate/Score Statement (PDF). You may also visit the UPBG office to obtain the hardcopy version of your certificate or score statement.
How long does it take to receive the EFL Test results?	EFL Test results will be uploaded to the website no later than three (3) working days after the test is conducted.
I have taken the EFL Test several times but haven’t passed yet. What should I do?	Reflect on your previous efforts. Based on Circular Letter WR 1 No. 4416/IT2.I/T/TU.00.08/2022 concerning Foreign Language Requirements for Final Projects, Theses, and Dissertations, students who have not yet achieved the required proficiency score are required to take a foreign language course organized by UPBG according to the level they have obtained.
For students of the 2020 cohort who have already met the minimum EFL Test score requirement, does that mean they are no longer required to retake the test?	ITS students from the 2020 cohort are not required to retake the EFL Test if they have already met the minimum score requirement. Whether the test was administered by Dirpendik or UPBG, as long as the score meets the required threshold (Undergraduate/Master’s: 477 and Doctoral/IUP: 500), it will be automatically recorded in the Graduation System (Sim Yudisium).

Do I have to turn on my camera during the test?	Yes, it is mandatory for identity verification and monitoring purposes.
What if my internet connection is lost?	The test will pause temporarily and can be resumed once the connection is stable.
When can I see my test results?	Usually within a few minutes after completing the test, while the conversion to EFL results will be available within 5 working days after the test.
Can the British Council EnglishScore be used as a thesis defense requirement?	Yes, the British Council EnglishScore can be used as a requirement for the thesis defense.
What is the minimum British Council EnglishScore required to obtain a certificate?	The minimum British Council EnglishScore to receive a certificate is 200.
What is the minimum British Council EnglishScore that can be converted to EFL?	The minimum British Council EnglishScore that can be converted to EFL is 325.
What is the minimum passing score when using the British Council EnglishScore?	Undergraduate (S1) and Master’s (S2): minimum 325 Doctoral (S3), Double Degree, and IUP: minimum 360

TOEFL-Like

What is the difference between TOEFL-Like and TOEFL ITP/IBT?	TOEFL-Like is an internal version administered by ITS, not an official test from ETS.
How long does the TOEFL-Like test take?	Approximately 2 hours, covering Listening, Structure, and Reading sections.
Am I allowed to take notes during the listening section?	No, taking notes during the listening section is not allowed.
Is the listening audio played only once?	Yes, the audio can only be heard once.
When will the TOEFL-Like test results be released?	Usually within 3 working days after the test.
Are TOEFL-Like results accepted for civil servant (CPNS) applications?	It depends on the institution and the position you are applying for.

TOEIC-Like

How long is the TOEIC certificate valid?	Generally, it is valid for 2 years from the test date.
Are TOEIC results sent via email?	Usually, they are sent by the test organizer within 5–7 working days.

General Questions

Is there any scholarship available for the English course at UPBG ITS?

Yes. The IKOMA Scholarship is available for undergraduate (S1) students with the following course fee reductions:

• Bidikmisi: 100%

• Regular: 50%

• Independent (Mandiri): 25%

How do I register for the English course through the IKOMA scholarship program?

Request a tuition clearance letter (surat bebas iuran) from the IKOMA office.
Fill out the registration form at https://its.id/Registrasi_IKOMAUPBG.
Wait a few days for data processing.
You will then be contacted by the teaching admin to re-register and choose your course program

What is the difference between IKOMA and conventional registration?

Registration through IKOMA is done via an online form, while conventional course registration must be done at the front desk, as a Virtual Account (VA) number for payment will be provided.

Who should I contact for conventional course registration?

You may contact the front desk from the UPBG office to obtain the VA number and further registration details.

General English Course

How is the course level determined?	The level is determined based on the Pre-Test results.
What course levels are available?	Levels: Pre A1, A1, A1+, A2, A2+, B1, B1+, B2, B2+, C1, C1+.
What components are included in each level?	Each level consists of: Assessment Test – Study Now – Review Lesson – Mastery Test – Certification Test.
How can I obtain the certificate?	After completing the Certification Test, the certificate can be downloaded through your account.
Who issues the course certificate?	The certificate is issued by Neo Study and can be used for SKEM purposes.
Which certificate levels can be converted into UPBG certificates?	Only B1 level and above certificates can be converted. Converted certificates can be viewed on the UPBG website and used as a graduation requirement.
What are the requirements for certificate conversion?	Participants must attend in-person conversation classes at least once per week.
Can the converted certificate be printed?	No, but it will be automatically recorded/integrated with the ITS Academic Information System (SIM Akademik).

Translation

What types of translation services are available at UPBG ITS?

UPBG ITS offers three types of services:
1. General translation (Indonesian – Foreign Language – Indonesian)
2. Sworn translation (by a certified sworn translator)
3. Interpretation service (interpreter)

How much do the translation services at UPBG ITS cost?

Are the service rates different for internal and external ITS users?

In which languages are the translation services available?

The services cover Indonesian ↔ Foreign Languages, including English and other languages as requested by the client.

Can sworn translations be used for official purposes?

Yes. Sworn translations are officially recognized and may be used for legal, academic, or international administrative documents.

How can I request a translation service?

Self Access Room

Is the SAR facility free of charge?

Yes, all SAR facilities are available free of charge.

What are the SAR opening hours?

SAR opens on workdays, except during lunch breaks. Regular days: 11:30–12:30; Fridays: 11:00–12:00.

Can SAR training modules be taken home?

No, all modules must be completed in the SAR room and are not allowed to be photographed.

Can training scores be converted into TEFL scores?

No, to obtain a TEFL score you must take the official EFL Test.

Can books from SAR be borrowed and taken home?

Currently, books can only be read inside the SAR room and cannot be borrowed for home use.

Must training modules be completed on the same day?

No, you may continue the training on the following day.

Will the training results be informed?

Yes, the results will be announced through scoring. Participants may also self-correct or assist with the correction process.

Can I choose different training modules?

Yes, there are several module options available, each identified by a different color code.
