Graduate Studies

DOCTORAL

Doctoral of Industrial Engineering is designed for students who are interested to pursue high quality research which significantly contribute to Industrial Engineering. Students are required to publish their research in international journal to accomplish their Doctoral Degree. This program has three research areas as follows:

  1. Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering
  2. Quality and Manufacturing System
  3. Industrial System Optimization

Prospective students are expected to show good academic records (minimum GPA of 3.00), and meet English proficiency requirement (minimum TOEFL Score 500). The acceptance of candidate would also subject to the availability of supervisors and the suitability of the candidate’s research topics.

Doctoral Program is a full-time program. During coursework stage, student must attend and pass at least four courses, while working on their research proposal. Student must present their proposal in front of a panel which consists of supervisor and three examiners. The same panel will also examine the dissertation when it is completed and presented.

 


 

MASTER


Industrial Engineering Department has initiated Master Program (S-2) since the academic year 1996/1997. From the academic year 1996/1997 academic year up to 2004/2005, the department has graduated 237 alumni of 755 students. Department of Industrial Engineering Department ITS is quite prominent in Indonesia and has been internationally recognized. By the age of 20 years that have passed, the Department of Industrial Engineering ITS has become one of the programs that are very productive in providing graduates students’ research publication.

Master program offers areas of expertise in Industrial Engineering Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM), Quality and Manufacturing Management (QMM), Industrial System Optimization (ISO), Industrial Ergonomics and Safety (IES), and Strategic Performance Management (SPM). Doctoral program currently offers Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering (LSCE), Quality and Manufacturing System (QMS), and Industrial System Optimization (ISO) expertise.

Master Program in Industrial Engineering Department is offered in 4 semesters (2 years), but the department allows the student to finish in 3 semesters with certain requirements, while the maximum completion time is 4 years. Master degree requires total 40 credits including compulsory courses, elective courses, and thesis research based on ITS curriculum. The first semester is started in early September, while the second semester stars in early February and ends in June.

BACHELOR

Industrial Engineering Course was established in 1985, which then transformed into Industrial Engineering Department of ITS in 1996. Industrial Engineering Department has successfully obtained accreditation A from BAN-PT in 2011. Industrial Engineering Education aims to create graduates who have high competence in planning, organizing, and controlling operational system in a vast and complex industry, also has the ability to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of industrial systems. Therefore, the Industrial Engineering degree are required to have the ability in the field of engineering sciences and social sciences altogether, in order to observe and resolve industrial problems by using systems approach. Industrial Engineering education consists of undergraduate and graduate programs. 

For undergraduate (S1), there are three study programs offered; which are regular class, international class, and business management class. Master program offers areas of expertise in Industrial Engineering Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM), Quality and Manufacturing Management (QMM), Industrial System Optimization (ISO), Industrial Ergonomics and Safety (IES), and Strategic Performance Management (SPM). Doctoral program currently offers Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering (LSCE), Quality and Manufacturing System (QMS), and Industrial System Optimization (ISO) expertise. Industrial Engineering graduates cover a broad range of professions, as an engineer, planner, system analysts, managers, entrepreneurs, bankers and researchers and faculty. Nowadays, alumni of Industrial Engineering are dedicating their selves inside and outside the country, working in government and private agencies.
