ISICO 2025 Highlights AI-Powered Business Transformation, Strengthens Global Collaboration

Surabaya, ELECTICS ITS – The Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), successfully hosted the prestigious international conference, The Eighth Information Systems International Conference (ISICO 2025). This biennial event took place on August 4–6, 2025, in a hybrid format in Bali, Indonesia, and brought together hundreds of researchers, academics, and practitioners from around the world.

With the theme “AI-Powered Business Transformation: Leveraging Machine Learning in Information Systems”, ISICO 2025 served as a forum for exchanging ideas on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning can revolutionize business processes, support decision-making, and strengthen digital innovation in the modern era.

This year, ISICO received 313 paper submissions from 21 countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Bangladesh, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. After a rigorous review process, 191 papers were accepted and presented at the conference, both on-site in Bali and virtually from across the globe. All accepted papers will be published in Procedia Computer Science – Elsevier, an open-access proceedings indexed by Scopus.

One of the main highlights of ISICO 2025 was the presence of four distinguished keynote speakers, all of whom are prominent figures in the field of information systems and digital transformation:

• Prof. Dorothy E. Leidner (President of the Association for Information Systems (AIS))
• Prof. Jan vom Brocke (President-Elect of AIS and Director of ERCIS, University of Münster)
• Prof. Ir. Arif Djunaidy, M.Sc, Ph.D (Professor at ITS Surabaya)
• Dr. Ir. Aris Tjahyanto, M.Kom (Expert Lecturer at ITS Surabaya)

These keynote speakers shared strategic perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of applying AI in information systems, as well as how technology can drive sustainable business transformation.

In addition to paper presentations and keynote speeches, ISICO 2025 also featured several important academic agendas, including:

• Doctoral Consortium under the theme “Driving Sustainable Development: The Role of Innovation in Management & Technologies”, providing a valuable platform for doctoral students to learn and exchange ideas.
• AIS Meet and Greet, an informal networking session with leaders of the Association for Information Systems (AIS).
• Workshops, conducted by ITS faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Amalia Utamima and Asst. Prof. Faizal Johan Atletiko.
• Asia-Pacific Symposium on Process and Artificial Intelligence (ASPAI 2025), a co-located event featuring distinguished speakers from leading universities and industries in the Asia-Pacific region.
  

The success of ISICO 2025 further solidified the role of the Department of Information Systems, ELECTICS ITS, as a driving force in international research and collaboration in the field of information systems. This conference not only produced high-quality scientific publications but also strengthened global networks crucial to addressing future challenges in digital transformation.
